General Computer Use



To Create a 9th Grade Science folder on your computer profile:

- Open up your Documents / Your Files window.
- Right click in this window
- Choose "New > Folder"
- Name it "9th Grade Science 2010_2011"
- You can now save documents and other files in this folder when doing activities in Science class.

To Create a new login for the Online Textbook:
- Go to www.pearsonsuccessnet.com
- Scroll down and click "Register"
- Type in one of the Access Codes that were given to you earlier in the year
- Type in your information - DO NOT include your ID number - DO NOT use the same username that you used before




Microsoft Office



To make a table in a Word document:

- Click on the Insert tab in the toolbar at the top of the page.
- Click on table, click "Insert Table..."
- Type in the number of columns ( | ) and rows (---) that you would like your table to have.
- Do not forget to count the columns and rows for your table's labels.
- Click the "AutoFit to contents" button. This will automatically set your column and row widths and heights.
- To adjust anything about your table's setup:
- Click on the table to highlight it.
- Right click on the button with arrows going up and down to see the drop-down menu.
- Choose "Table Properties" and adjust information in any one of the tabs.
